Tabbetha Kay Worford, a 19-year-old mother from Pensacola, Florida, went missing on May 5, 1990. She was last seen at her residence in the Fairfield Village Apartments, where she had recently moved after starting a new secretarial job. At the time of her disappearance, Tabbetha was wearing black jeans, a white eyelet top, and was carrying a white leather purse with blue patchwork, which contained her wallet, identification, and a paycheck that was never cashed.
Her glasses, other clothes, and money were left behind in her apartment, and there were no signs of a struggle.
The same night Tabbetha disappeared, her infant son was found abandoned in his car seat on the doorstep of the home of her former partner’s ex-wife. The doorbell was heard ringing around 2:30 a.m., but no one answered, and the baby was discovered several hours later. This led to suspicions of foul play, although no concrete evidence has surfaced to confirm what happened.
Despite an extensive investigation, Tabbetha's remains have never been found. Authorities have considered her former partner a possible suspect, but no charges have been filed due to lack of evidence.
