In the summer of 1995, a 31-year-old man named David Ford, who was affectionately known by the nickname "Peanut," was living in a group home in Cincinnati, Ohio, due to a mental handicap. On July 6th of that year, he was seen outside in the yard, helping with some of the outdoor chores. This seemingly ordinary day took a distressing turn when David did not come back inside the residence and was never seen or heard from again. His sudden disappearance left his loved ones and caregivers with a profound sense of loss and a multitude of unanswered questions. At the time he went missing, David was described as a Black / African American male, standing between 5'10" and 6'0" tall, and weighing between 175 and 180 pounds. He had black hair and brown eyes, and distinctive scars on his left arm and leg, as well as on his right leg. The initial investigation into David's disappearance was handled by the Silverton Police Department. However, in the years that followed, the Silverton Police Department merged with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, which then took over the case. Despite the passage of time, law enforcement has continued to keep David's case open, hoping for a breakthrough that might finally shed some light on what happened to him. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain frustratingly vague, with very few details available to provide any clear direction for the investigation. His case is a poignant reminder of the silent struggles faced by many vulnerable individuals and the enduring pain experienced by families of the missing. The search for David Ford has now spanned several decades, and his case remains an active and unsolved missing person investigation. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office continues to be the primary agency handling the case, holding out hope that new information will emerge. The lack of concrete leads or any significant developments has made this a particularly challenging case for investigators. For those who knew and cared for David, the absence of closure is a heavy burden. The overview of this case is one of a sudden and unexplained disappearance of a vulnerable adult, leaving a void in the lives of those he left behind and a lingering mystery for the community and law enforcement.
