Sharon Ann Martin, age 55, was last seen on March 31, 2006, in Pensacola, Florida. A U.S. Air Force veteran and former flight attendant, she was managing an apartment complex on East Nine Mile Road at the time of her disappearance. She was last heard from when she called her husband during lunch that day, after which she vanished without a trace.
A month after her disappearance, a maintenance worker named John Homer Docherty IV was arrested for using Sharon's credit card and
forging checks in her name. Authorities later found bloodstains in his apartment that matched Sharon's DNA. Witnesses reported suspicious behavior from Docherty, including lifting a heavy trash can into a dumpster on the night she disappeared, and searching the dumpster later that night with a flashlight. Though Sharon's body was never found, Docherty was convicted of manslaughter in 2008. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison and released in 2019, maintaining his innocence.
