On the evening of March 21, Danielle attended a BBQ in Field Store, Waller County, with her husband, Austin Sleeper, and their 3-year-old son. Witnesses reported that the couple had an argument before they left the party together in Austin's white Ford F-350 pickup truck at around 1 a.m. the next day.
According to Austin, after arriving home, Danielle went to sleep on the couch while he left for errands later that morning. When he returned, Danielle, along with her purse and phone, was missing. Austin claims she left on foot, but her vehicle was still parked at the BBQ location, raising questions about how she could have left. Danielle did not attend a meeting with friends she had scheduled for later that day, and her phone activity ceased shortly after her disappearance, with the last signal being detected two days later, 2.5 miles from her home.
The house Danielle shared with Austin was in disarray, which her family noted was unlike her, and Austin did not immediately report her missing. Danielle’s family, deeply concerned, initiated a search, and authorities have considered foul play possible, but no major breakthroughs have occurred.
