In the spring of 2015, concerns grew for 28-year-old Brittany Anne Ford and her infant son, Deklon. The two were last seen in Columbus, Ohio, around May 5, 2015. Prior to her disappearance, Brittany had been exhibiting signs of a possible mental health crisis. She had recently driven from her home in Georgia to stay with family in Ohio after a domestic dispute. While in Ohio, her behavior became erratic, leading her family to seek a 72-hour evaluation at a mental health facility. After her release, she went to stay with her brother. A few days later, on the morning of May 6th, her brother discovered that Brittany and Deklon were gone, with a note indicating they had gone out for food. They never came back. She had left with only her purse and Deklon's diaper bag. A missing persons report was filed with the Columbus Division of Police on May 7, 2015. In the days that followed, there were a couple of interactions with Brittany. On May 14th, a police officer in Indiana assisted her with changing a tire. Two days later, she contacted her brother from Iowa, asking for a significant amount of money. This would be the last known contact anyone had with her. The investigation took a significant turn on May 17, 2015, when Brittany's car was found abandoned on the side of a highway between Billings, Montana, and Sheridan, Wyoming. Inside the vehicle were her personal belongings, including her medication and Deklon's car seat. There was no sign of Brittany or her son. The discovery of the abandoned car hundreds of miles from where they were last seen has only deepened the mystery surrounding their disappearance. Despite the passage of time, the whereabouts of Brittany and Deklon Ford remain unknown, leaving their family with unanswered questions and a case that continues to be investigated by the Columbus Police Department.
