Joseph Caponetti, 57, was last seen on the morning of April 10, 1979, in San Bernardino, California. Caponetti, the owner of Joe's Tru Cool Air Conditioning, left his home around 8:00 a.m. to go to his business. Just an hour later, at 9:00 a.m., a part-time employee arrived at the shop and found the doors open, Caponetti's truck with its keys in the ignition, and an alarming pool of blood behind a workbench in the rear of the shop.
