In the autumn of 1999, a 33-year-old man named Lancelot Burt Immergan was last seen by his family in Savoonga, Alaska. An American Indian / Alaska Native male, Lancelot was planning a trip to Nome, a city on the Seward Peninsula. Savoonga, situated on St. Lawrence Island in the Bering Sea, is remote, and travel to the mainland would have required him to take a plane.
