Edwin Theophilis Pritchard, a 30-year-old Miami resident, was last seen on December 12, 2009, when he and his friend, Richard Alicea, departed from Haulover Beach Marina in Miami, Florida. The two men were heading to Bimini, Bahamas, on a 17-foot white Key Largo boat with a green-blue stripe, equipped with one outboard engine. Despite having successfully made the trip to Bimini in the past, they did not reach their destination this time.
A search was launched when the two men were reported missing, covering an extensive 47,000 square-mile area from Miami to the Bahamas. The search included Coast Guard helicopters, aircraft, and multiple cutter ships. Unfortunately, parts of a boat matching the description of Pritchard and Alicea's vessel were found on a small, uninhabited island in the Bahamas, but there was no trace of the two men.
