In the spring of 2010, a young man named Deangelo Deshun Burns vanished from his home in Oakland, Tennessee. On April 5th, the 25-year-old was last seen riding his bicycle southward on Highway 194, away from his residence. At the time of his disappearance, Deangelo was described as a Black male, standing between 5'8" and 5'9" tall, and weighing approximately 175 to 180 pounds. He had black hair and brown eyes. When he was last seen, he was wearing a black shirt, black blue jean shorts, and black tennis shoes. Distinctive tattoos adorned both of his arms. The days turned into weeks, and with no sign of Deangelo, his case was officially reported to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office on April 13, 2010. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance were, and remain, troublingly vague. He was simply last seen on his bicycle, and then he was gone. The lack of concrete leads or witnesses has made the investigation incredibly challenging for law enforcement over the years. Despite being listed in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), significant progress in the case has not been reported. For over a decade, the disappearance of Deangelo Burns has left a void in the lives of his loved ones and a lingering question in his community. The case, now cold, serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring pain and uncertainty that families of the missing face. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office continues to hold the case file, hoping that one day new information will surface and provide the answers that have been sought for so long. The overview of this case is one of sudden and unexplained absence, a young man who disappeared from a rural highway, leaving behind only memories and a mystery that has yet to be solved.
