Marisela Fabian Hernandez, 38, was last seen on January 23, 2016, in Pomona, California. She left her home to go to work that morning but never arrived. Her red 1994 Toyota 4-Runner was later found at her home, and her phone charger had also been left behind. A few days after Marisela's disappearance, police discovered the body of her husband, Ivan Hernandez, who had died by suicide. Ivan had left a note asking Marisela’s brother to take care of their four children.
Authorities believe the couple had been struggling with financial and marital problems before Marisela's disappearance.
Marisela had a long-distance boyfriend in Albany, New York, and had briefly left her family about a month before her disappearance, possibly to visit him. However, her boyfriend stated he had no knowledge of her whereabouts at the time of her disappearance. Although there is no concrete evidence of foul play, her case remains suspicious, and Marisela has not been heard from since. The investigation into her disappearance continues, but no major leads have emerged.
