In the early summer of 2016, a young man named Kori Glossett vanished from Van Wert County, Ohio, leaving behind a series of unanswered questions and a family searching for closure. The exact date of his disappearance remains uncertain due to his transient lifestyle at the time. He was known to move between various locations in the Van Wert, Delphos, Middle Point, and Lima areas. The last confirmed contact with Kori was on his 25th birthday, when his father spoke with him. Just over a week later, he was bonded out of jail by a friend, Dale H. Gear, and reportedly spent the night at Gear's home in Middle Point. Gear stated that he dropped Kori off in the city of Van Wert the following morning. Kori was never seen or heard from again. His father, concerned after not hearing from him, officially reported him missing a month after their last conversation. Kori was last seen wearing a blue long-sleeved button-up shirt with white stripes, white dress pants, and black dress shoes. He also wore eyeglasses and a distinctive hoop ring in his nose. His appearance was further characterized by numerous tattoos, including "Chad Arnold" on the inside of his left arm, a ribbon with "Tammy Baker" on his chest, a bible with "Richard Glossett" on his back, "Live Love Laugh" on his left hand, a Chinese symbol on his left forearm, and the words "Hope Love Pain" on one of his right fingers. He was a white male with brown hair and brown eyes, and stood between 5'5" and 5'8" tall, weighing between 160 and 180 pounds. At the time he went missing, he did not have a driver's license and his cell phone was left behind, severing a key line of communication. As the investigation into Kori's disappearance progressed, troubling details began to emerge, pointing towards the possibility of foul play. A significant development came in August 2021 when Dale H. Gear was indicted on charges of tampering with evidence related to the case. During a search of Gear's property, investigators discovered multiple suspected blood samples throughout his home, garage, and pickup truck. Forensic analysis confirmed that three of these samples were a match to Kori Glossett's DNA. Authorities noted that the amount of blood found was not consistent with a minor injury, deepening suspicions surrounding the circumstances of Kori's vanishing. The case remains an open and active investigation, a painful and unresolved chapter for a family still hoping for answers.
