Javier Castro, a 21-year-old from Cape Coral, Florida, went missing on June 18, 2016, while swimming near Boca Grande's Range Light Beach. He was enjoying time with his family when several of his siblings became stranded on a sandbar, unable to return to shore due to a strong rip current. Javier bravely attempted to save them, but while three of his siblings were rescued, he was swept away by the current.
