Brian Edgardo Fernandez, 21, was last seen on December 23, 2016, when he and his girlfriend, Olivia Hannah Gonzalez, left North Hollywood for a weekend trip to Big Sur, California. The couple, accompanied by their two dogs, traveled in a tan 2002 Honda Civic. They made a stop in Cambria, California, where they were captured on surveillance footage making a purchase at a store. They were expected to return home by Christmas Day, but never arrived.
On January 3, 2017, their vehicle was discovered at the base of a 325-foot cliff off the Pacific Coast Highway near Ragged Point in San Luis Obispo County. Inside the car, authorities found the bodies of Olivia and one of their dogs, both of whom had died in the crash. The second dog's body was found nearby days later. However, Brian Fernandez was not found at the scene, and extensive searches of the area yielded no trace of him. Authorities believe he may have been ejected from the vehicle and washed into the ocean, but his body has never been recovered.
The case remains open, with Brian still listed as missing. Investigators continue to seek any information that may lead to answers about his fate.
