In the summer of 1979, 33-year-old Kathleen Beitzel was a mother of three, working as a realtor, and navigating the complexities of a troubled marriage. She was a petite woman, with blue eyes and brown hair, and had a scar on her left knee. On the evening of July 14th, a Saturday, Kathleen and her husband attended a party in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
