On the day of his disappearance, Jones had a disagreement with his sister and left home on foot with $200 in cash and the clothes on his back. He did not own a vehicle at the time. He mentioned to his mother that he planned to do some traveling, but he has never been seen or heard from since.
Jones had a history of depression, having previously been hospitalized after struggling with grief over his father's death when he was a teenager. Despite the passage of time, there have been no solid leads in his case, and his whereabouts remain unknown. His mother reported him missing about a year after his disappearance, and the case remains unsolved.
