Earl Sheppard Jr., a 28-year-old man from Gore, Oklahoma, was last seen on March 6, 1990, at a boat landing near the Arkansas River. Earl and a friend had gone out on a motorized boat trip. Several weeks later, on March 27, 1990, the body of his friend was recovered from the river, but Earl has never been found. The search for him was hindered by high waters and heavy rain, which made recovery efforts challenging.
