Rachel Aquino Thomas, age 25, was last seen on September 12, 1991, in Jacksonville, Florida. Recently divorced from her ex-husband, Greg Thomas, Rachel had arranged to meet him at her home between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. that day. However, she never called a friend she had plans with later that evening, and Greg claimed he never arrived at her house. When her roommate returned around 8:00 p.m., Rachel was missing, and her car was gone.
The garage was open, and the lights were still on, but there were signs of a struggle, including dirt in the hallway and scuff marks on the wall.
Rachel's car, a gray 1987 Honda Civic, was found three days later. It had been cleaned, and Greg’s palm print was discovered on the trunk. Further investigation uncovered bloodstains matching Rachel's blood type in her home, along with sneaker prints in the garage. Despite Greg’s denial, evidence and witness statements later revealed that he and an accomplice had likely abducted Rachel to force her into signing legal documents related to their divorce and custody issues.
