On May 1, 2017, an 18-year-old female named Desirea Ferris was last seen by her family in Liberty, Missouri. That day, she and her sister were picked up by a male acquaintance. They spent the day with him, visiting several locations, including abandoned houses. Later in the afternoon, they were dropped off at a McDonald's in Kansas City, where another man picked them up and drove them to a different McDonald's back in Liberty.
