Johnson Nguyen, 32, was last seen on May 15, 2017, in the area of Mad River, California. Nguyen, along with three other men—Dan Nguyen (not related), Anesi Sauta, and Tony Sysavanh—departed from Orange County in a rented silver Jeep Cherokee. The group was reportedly traveling to northern California, potentially to meet with a friend, look for agricultural work, or inspect property. Their last confirmed location, according to phone records, was in the Berry Creek area, with their phones pinging later in Stockton, California, on May 18 and May 19.
Despite ongoing investigations, the Jeep they were traveling in was never recovered, and the whereabouts of all four men remain a mystery. The Trinity County Sheriff's Department continues to treat the case as suspicious, suspecting foul play, but no significant breakthroughs have been made in locating the men or understanding what led to their disappearance.
