In early July 2017, the life of 58-year-old Robin Roxanne Hughes took a sudden and unsettling turn, leaving her family and friends in a state of prolonged uncertainty. The last confirmed sighting of Robin was in Bowling Green, Kentucky. At the time, her own car was undergoing repairs, so she had borrowed her mother's vehicle. When she picked up the car, she was accompanied by two unidentified men.
In the days that followed this sighting, concern began to mount as Robin's mother was unable to reach her despite multiple attempts. This period of silence was unusual and alarming for those who knew her well.
A brief and cryptic phone call on July 8, 2017, was the last time Robin's mother would hear her daughter's voice. During the conversation, Robin assured her mother that she would return the borrowed car as soon as she could. She also made a disturbing statement, mentioning that she was trying to get her boyfriend, Ismael Beltran, to leave her house but was unable to discuss the situation further. Just after midnight on July 9, Robin's mother was awakened by the sound of a car in her driveway and discovered that her vehicle had been returned. However, there was no sign of Robin. Two days later, on the afternoon of July 11, mounting concern led Robin's father and adult son to her home to check on her welfare. They found the house with the lights off but the television still on. Robin's keys were inside, and her beloved dogs had been left unattended, a detail that was highly out of character for her.
The search of the home deepened the mystery surrounding her disappearance. Her bedroom door was discovered to be locked from the inside. After forcing the door open, her family found no indications of a struggle or any clear signs of what might have transpired. Since that time, there has been no contact from Robin, and her whereabouts remain unknown. Her boyfriend, Ismael Beltran, also vanished and was last seen on July 8. His ex-wife reported that he had told her he needed to leave town due to a lack of work. Friends and family have stated that it was completely unlike Robin to disappear without a word, and she had never gone missing before.
