Debra Killian, a 64-year-old woman from Nederland, Texas, was last seen on July 21, 2017. She walked away from her home on California Street following an argument at approximately 2:30 p.m., leaving behind her phone, identification, and money. Her family initially wasn't alarmed, as it wasn't unusual for Debra to leave home for a few days. However, after not hearing from her for an extended period, her husband reported her missing on July 24.
Debra, who had been married since 1982, struggled with mental health issues, including bipolar disorder, which may have contributed to her disappearance. She was known for being involved in community service, particularly in helping the homeless. Despite her tendency to leave home occasionally, her prolonged absence has raised concerns. She was last seen wearing a light blue t-shirt and blue jeans, standing at 4'9" and weighing approximately 177 pounds. Detectives believe it is possible she may still be alive but does not want to be found. Her case remains open, and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office continues to seek information to assist in locating her.
