Gail Skelton Missing Person Case

Gail Deann Skelton, a 26-year-old woman from Stockton, California, went missing on September 26, 1980. That evening, she attended a party at Herman and Helen's Marina, a now-defunct bar located on the Empire Tract, southwest of Lodi. She was last seen wearing a blue plaid flannel shirt and jeans. After the party, she disappeared, and neither she nor her car, a blue 1978 two-door Toyota, were ever found.

At the party, Gail was reportedly harassed by an unidentified man described as Caucasian, 25 to 30 years old, over six feet tall, with dark hair and a thin build. A composite sketch of this man was released, but it remains unclear whether he was ever identified or considered a suspect.

Just three months before Gail vanished, her fiancé, Pat Malone, drowned in the Mokelumne River under suspicious circumstances. His death was ruled accidental, but some friends and family questioned the official account, citing his strong swimming ability. Gail had been grieving his loss at the time of her disappearance. Despite theories ranging from foul play to accidental drowning, no definitive evidence has surfaced to explain her disappearance, and her family continues to search for answers.
