On a March evening in 1982, a 35-year-old woman named Linda Christine Welshans spent time with friends at a restaurant in Buffalo, New York. The night seemed ordinary, filled with the simple pleasure of good company. At some point, Linda left the establishment with the intention of walking down Delaware Avenue.
