Elizabeth Barbara Bartholomew, an 80-year-old woman, was last seen on January 8, 1991, near her home in Midpines, California. She had been with her husband on their property, located close to Carstens Road and Plumbar Road, about eight miles east of Mariposa, near the Sierra National Forest. That day, she had been riding a tractor with her husband when she expressed a desire to walk. After being allowed to walk alongside the tractor, she wandered out of sight and vanished.
