Michael Joseph Miranda, an 18-year-old from Porterville, California, was last seen on the morning of July 13, 1992, when he went hiking alone. He did not take any supplies with him, indicating he planned to be gone only for a few hours. However, he never returned, and his family did not report him missing until three days later.
