In the early summer of 1999, a 35-year-old woman named Deborah Renee Lewis was living in West Point, Georgia. The last time her mother ever heard her voice was during a phone call on June 18 of that year. As time stretched on without any word from Deborah, a growing sense of unease settled over her mother.
