On April 1, 2015, 44-year-old Robert Wayne Roush was last seen in Saratoga Springs, New York. Prior to his disappearance, Roush, a male with brown hair and hazel eyes, had expressed to his family his interest in hiking the Appalachian Trail. He was reportedly wearing cargo pants, a fleece top, and hiking boots, and carrying a large dark grey hiking backpack with camping equipment. At the time he went missing, he was estimated to be between 5'8" and 5'11" tall and weighed between 160 and 180 pounds. He also had some unshaven facial hair with some white or gray around his mouth and chin. The last known communication from Robert Roush was a telephone call to his sister from Virginia. During the call, he stated that he had lost his wallet but still had his New York identification. His sister sent him a money transfer, and he indicated his intention to return home. This was the final contact anyone had with him. It is believed that he was traveling by bus or possibly hitchhiking at the time of his disappearance. The last known location he mentioned was Daleville in Botetourt County, Virginia. Despite the passage of time, Robert Roush's case remains an active missing person investigation. Authorities have continued to seek information that could lead to his whereabouts, but no significant leads have emerged publicly. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance are still considered a mystery, leaving his family with unanswered questions. The investigation is being handled by the New York State Police in Greenwich.
