Eileen Peluffo, a 54-year-old woman from Wilmington, North Carolina, went missing on July 15, 2015, during a solo trip to Daytona Beach, Florida. At the time, she was living with her fiancé in North Carolina, and her 16-year-old daughter was away on a mission trip in Costa Rica. Peluffo frequently traveled to Florida, and during this particular trip, she disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
Her fiancé reported her missing after the Florida Highway Patrol contacted him on July 13, 2015, to inform him that her car had been found abandoned and impounded along Interstate 95. Eileen was last seen two days later, on July 15, but has not been heard from since. The day after her last sighting, her purse, containing her identification, was found on a sidewalk near the beach in Ormond Beach.
Peluffo was known to suffer from bipolar disorder and paranoid schizophrenia, and her family has stated it was highly unusual for her to go so long without contacting her fiancé or daughter. Her case remains unsolved, with few leads despite investigations by local authorities.
Eileen is described as 5'2" tall, weighing 115 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair, though she may have dyed it burgundy. She also has a distinctive skin discoloration on her chest and a scar on her elbow from a childhood accident.
