On a Tuesday in the fall of 2017, a 32-year-old man named Tercel Anibal Samayoa-Menendez, also known as Anibal Samayoa, left his Las Vegas, Nevada, home with the intention of selling his vehicle. He was last seen on October 10, 2017, when he went to meet a potential buyer for his unregistered white 2009 Toyota Corolla.
