In the small city of Dunlap, Tennessee, a family's life was forever altered in the spring of 2018. On April 15th, 29-year-old Matthew Tyler Henry, a male known to his loved ones as Matt, vanished without a trace. He was last seen in the parking lot of a Tractor Supply, which is across the street from a Dollar Tree. Matthew drove his white Ford Mustang to the location, exited his vehicle, and was seen speaking with a man in a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck before getting into that truck and leaving his own car behind. That interaction was the last time anyone has reported seeing or hearing from him. It wasn't until twelve days later, on April 27, 2018, that Matthew was officially reported as a missing person. The days leading up to Matthew's disappearance were reportedly filled with a sense of dread. Friends and acquaintances later told investigators that Matthew had seemed anxious and fearful, with some even suggesting he needed a way to protect himself. In a particularly chilling revelation, it's believed that Matthew confided in at least one person that he had a premonition he would soon go missing. Shortly after he was last seen, rumors began to circulate on social media that he was no longer alive, causing great alarm to his family. At the time he vanished, Matthew had no permanent address and was known to frequent several counties in Tennessee, including Marion, Bledsoe, White, Van Buren, and Hamilton, as well as parts of Georgia. He is described as a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes, standing at 5'9" and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds. He has several distinctive tattoos, including the name "Beverly" within a heart on his chest and a full sleeve on his right arm. The investigation into Matthew Henry's disappearance has been extensive, involving the Dunlap Police Department, the Sequatchie County Sheriff's Office, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), and the FBI. Despite numerous interviews, with some reports indicating over 200 people have been spoken to, concrete answers have remained elusive. The man in the pickup truck, who was the last person seen with Matthew, has been identified and interviewed multiple times but has not provided any useful information. Law enforcement officials have stated they believe Matthew met with foul play and are investigating his case as a homicide, even though his body has not been found. This classification as a missing person's case is considered a technicality by investigators who strongly suspect he was killed on the day he disappeared. The case remains unsolved, leaving his family, including his parents who are raising his young son, without closure or justice. The ongoing effort to find answers is a testament to the community's and his family's hope that someone with information will finally come forward.
