Faye Whatley, aged 68, and her husband, John Whatley, went missing from their home near Bastrop, Texas, on January 27, 1976. Their disappearance was discovered after the couple failed to attend their granddaughter’s wedding rehearsal and the wedding itself. Concerned family members asked law enforcement to conduct a wellness check at their rural ranch.
