Susan Hallowell, a 24-year-old woman, was last seen on April 1, 1980, in Melbourne, Florida. Prior to her disappearance, she had moved in with her mother after a disturbing incident with her boyfriend in the Ocala National Forest, where they had been living at a campground. According to a report, her boyfriend had physically assaulted her, binding her wrists and ankles and attempting to smother her. Although law enforcement suggested that Susan press charges, she did not follow through.
