Vernon Kenneth Nash Jr., a 36-year-old man, was last seen on January 26, 1985, in St. Petersburg, Florida. He and a friend, Jess Willard Gilbert, set out on a 24-foot fishing vessel for a shark fishing trip. They were expected to return by January 29 but never made it back, and the boat was never located.
