In the summer of 2017, the family of 26-year-old Jaime Henry Doering Jr. lost contact with him, sparking a long and painful search for answers. He was last officially seen in Gresham, Oregon, on July 31, 2017. His family reported that it was highly uncharacteristic of him to be out of touch for more than a few days at a time. The last known conversation he had with his mother was at her home in July of that year.
