Ean Michael Reinold, a 19‑year‑old resident of Quincy, Illinois, disappeared on **October 14, 2017**, when a recreational outing turned tragic. That afternoon, while on the Mississippi River in a Jon boat with two companions, the small vessel took on water and capsized. All three men exited the boat and attempted to swim to shore. A passing tugboat rescued the two companions, but Ean did not make it. He was last seen trying to reach the tug rather than swimming directly to shore.
