Rommie Lee Essex, an 81-year-old man from Tupelo, Mississippi, was last seen on February 19, 2019, near the Pines Apartments in the Barnes Crossing area. Essex, who may have been suffering from dementia, reportedly called for a cab that day, but when the driver arrived, he was not at the pickup location. He had no cellphone or car, and it was speculated that he might have been attempting to travel to Memphis, Tennessee.
