In early May 2019, 37-year-old Thomas Manuel Dias, affectionately known as "Tommy," embarked on a bicycle journey from Wilmington, North Carolina, aiming to reach New Orleans, Louisiana. Accompanied by a friend, the duo's adventure was characterized by spontaneity and a thirst for new experiences. Their travels led them to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where they arrived on May 7, 2019. During their stay, they connected with two other individuals and shared accommodations at a local hotel, immersing themselves in the coastal city's vibrant atmosphere.
On May 11, 2019, the dynamics within the group shifted. An altercation occurred between Tommy and one of his companions outside Old Chicago Pizza in Murrells Inlet. The situation escalated, leading to the arrest of the other individual involved. Witnesses reported that Tommy departed the scene on his bicycle, heading off alone. This moment marks the last confirmed sighting of him.
A significant hurdle in the investigation was the two-month delay before Tommy was officially reported missing. This gap hindered the collection of timely evidence and the ability to retrace his steps effectively. Since his disappearance, there has been no activity on his cell phone, social media accounts, or financial records, leaving investigators with minimal leads.
Tommy hailed from the Orlando, Florida area and was the eldest of three siblings. Known for his love of skateboarding, working on cars, and playing disc golf, he was described as adventurous and free-spirited. Physically, he stood between 5'9" and 5'10", weighed around 160 pounds, had sandy-colored long hair, brown eyes, a piercing over his right eye, and gauges in both ears. ...Read More
