A Quiet Life in Hana
Nestled along the rugged eastern coastline of Maui, the town of Hana is known for its lush landscapes and tight-knit community. Among its residents was Richard Feliciano, a 61-year-old Hispanic man who led a modest life. Standing at 5 feet 7 inches and weighing approximately 125 pounds, Feliciano was characterized by his black hair and brown eyes. Despite facing health challenges, including seizures and mental health issues, he was a familiar figure in the community. His life, however, took a mysterious turn in October 2016, leaving many questions unanswered.
The Day He Disappeared
On October 16, 2016, concerns arose when Adult Protective Services conducted a welfare check on Feliciano and found him missing. Subsequent reports indicated that he was last seen on October 27, 2016, in Nāhiku, a small community near Hana. This discrepancy in dates adds to the confusion surrounding his disappearance. Despite efforts by local authorities, including the Maui County Police Department, no trace of Feliciano has been found since that day.
