A Familiar Path, an Unfamiliar Silence
Julia Vicente, a 59-year-old member of the Navajo Nation, was last seen on June 3, 2018, in Shiprock, New Mexico. That day, her husband, Otto Vicente Sr., dropped her off about a mile from their home so she could visit a friend. Julia was intimately familiar with the area, having lived in Shiprock for most of her life. She planned to walk home along her usual route, a path she had taken many times before. However, she never returned home that evening and has not been seen since.
A Mother's Routine Disrupted
Julia's disappearance was out of character. Despite struggling with alcoholism and severe arthritis, she maintained a routine and was known to return home before dark.
