Jerry Sherman Hendry was a 54-year-old resident of Newellton, Louisiana, a small town nestled in Tensas Parish. Standing at 5 feet 10 inches and weighing approximately 150 pounds, Jerry was known for his gray hair and green eyes. On November 13, 1997, he was last seen at his home, dressed in a button-down shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers. His sudden disappearance sent ripples through the tight-knit community, leaving friends and neighbors in a state of shock and confusion.
In the days following Jerry's disappearance, local authorities launched an investigation to determine his whereabouts. According to her statement, during a drunken argument, she fatally struck Jerry with a wooden cutting board. In an attempt to conceal the crime, she claimed to have wrapped his body in a rug, burned it, and buried the remains near their driveway. This confession led to her arrest and charges of murder.
Following Mary Ann's confession, law enforcement officials conducted an extensive search of the property. Using shovels and backhoes, they excavated approximately half a mile of land in hopes of recovering Jerry's remains. Despite these efforts, only some bone fragments were found, and it was unclear whether they belonged to Jerry. The lack of definitive evidence complicated the case and left many questions unanswered. ...Read More
