On the chilly evening of December 28, 1956, sisters Barbara and Patricia Grimes embarked on a routine outing that would tragically become one of Chicago's most haunting mysteries. Fifteen-year-old Barbara and her 12-year-old sister Patricia were devoted fans of Elvis Presley and had planned to watch his latest film, "Love Me Tender," at the Brighton Theater in Chicago's Brighton Park neighborhood. Leaving their McKinley Park home around 7:30 p.m., they promised their mother they'd return by midnight.

When midnight came and went without the girls' return, their mother, Loretta Grimes, grew increasingly anxious.
