A Quiet Fairbanks Neighbor Who Never Came Home
On April 28, 1984, 33-year-old Roger Francis Culp vanished from the Fairbanks area of Alaska under circumstances that were troubling from the very beginning. He lived in a small community outside the city, near the Chena Ridge and Hopkinsville area, where neighbors knew each other by sight and cabins were scattered along snowy roads and river landings. That day would mark the last time anyone saw him alive, and from that point forward his name has been tied to one of Alaska’s most notorious spree killers, even though his remains have never been found.

Available records show that Roger was born in 1950 and had built a life for himself in Alaska after moving there in 1976 to work on the Trans-Alaska pipeline, later choosing to stay in the state he had come to call home. He was described as a white man with brown hair and hazel eyes, around six feet two inches tall and weighing roughly 180 pounds.
