On January 21, 2007, Marlaina Reed, a 17-year-old from Chicago, Illinois, was tragically found deceased in a north side Chicago alley. Her body had been beaten and stuffed into a cardboard box before being discarded among trash, a grim testament to the horrific violence she suffered. Marlaina, who had been reported missing since May 2006, was a ward of the state of Illinois, living in a group home at the time of her disappearance.
