On February 28, 2007, Michael Sumrall, a 50-year-old African American male, was found deceased in Chicago, Illinois. According to the Chicago Police Department's homicide data, Sumrall's death was classified as a homicide. The incident occurred in the 600 block of North Central Avenue in the Austin neighborhood on the city's West Side. Sumrall sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency personnel.
