Darrell Jenkins, age 23, was shot and killed on October 12, 2008, in Chicago. The incident occurred while Jenkins was visiting his family, having moved back from Niles to Chicago, where he was born. He was attending East West University downtown, trying to build a better future for himself. On the night of his death, he was outside talking with friends and family when a shooting took place.
