Luis Hernandez, a 17-year-old resident of Chicago, was tragically shot and killed on September 12, 2009, in the West Side of the city. Luis was outside when he was targeted by unknown assailants, who opened fire and fatally wounded him. The incident took place late at night, a time when violence was particularly frequent in the neighborhood. Luis was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to a nearby hospital.
