On June 26, 2010, Richard McGill, age 41, was killed in a drive-by shooting that took place in the South Chicago neighborhood. The incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. while McGill and another man were sitting on a porch near 8200 South Muskegon Avenue. A gunman approached in what was described as a green Chevrolet Monte Carlo, exited the vehicle, and began firing at the two men.
