Jovany Diaz, aged 15, was tragically shot and killed on June 13, 2011, while celebrating his birthday in Chicago's West Humboldt Park neighborhood. The shooting occurred late at night, as Jovany was with friends near his home on the 4300 block of West Hirsch Street.
