On December 31, 2011, Efren Madrigal, aged 23, was fatally shot in Chicago. The shooting occurred in the Gage Park neighborhood, located on the city's Southwest Side. Madrigal was found with multiple gunshot wounds on a residential street, and despite efforts by emergency responders, he succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward.
