On the evening of Saturday, March 17, 2012, Vincent Fitts, a 22-year-old African American male, was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound to the head in the 800 block of East 79th Street in Chicago’s Grand Crossing neighborhood. Residing in the 4100 block of West Cermak Road, Fitts was pronounced dead later that night at the Stein Institute.
